My Dad Says

My Dad Says I picked David up from school today.  Was told that the “My Dad Says” comments need to end.  The school has rules that he has to follow regardless of what Dad says. Wait a minute… What? My Dad Says Evidently when David doesn’t want to do something or is trying to get his way, he starts with “My Dad Says…” Yeah, like I have control over what David says. Also, he is supposed to stop bringing people’s phone numbers and names into school.  Something about confidentiality. I understand confidentiality, but I also understand that David has a memory for names and phone numbers that rivals a phone book. I have no control over his memory. Yeah.  and David likes to write all over his daily report card. David spends an hour twice a day in a van being transported.  One of the ways he deals with that

its 0630, have you had your tantrum yet?

its 0630, have you had your tantrum yet? The Tantrum begins! Then we proceeded to talk about his clothing for the day.  He wanted to wear his pajamas and wet pull up to school.  The tantrum started. 20 minutes later with him acting like a child 9

what are you here for then?

a conversation with David… “You can’t access the Internet using the Wii David, you know that.” – Dad “I am not accessing the Internet, I am looking at games and reading wimpy kids books online.” – David “Unless it’s educational, it’s not allowed David.” – Dad He turns off the Wii, and goes stomping off.  Mom is working on lesson plans at the kitchen table. I tell him he needs to be in the living room with me. “there is nothing for me to do here…” – David “We aren’t here to entertain you David.”  – Dad “Well then what are you here for?” – David He then proceeded to tell me that he can’t wait to move into the residential facility and that he isn’t coming home from his school anymore. (the school is a day program at the residential facility) He also told me that since I beat
