spooky behavior

My 10 year old would give Houdini a run for his money in the magic disappearance category. What is spooky about it is when he goes into a room you can tell that he is cataloging the contents of the room.  Determining thos items that he can take.  It isn’t suspicion that makes me think this.  I have seen him do it.  Then when he fixates on something, that item disappears as quick as you can blink your eye. The item might be of little to no value, and it might be expensive, it doesn’t matter, once he sets his mind to it, that item becomes his, or at least he thinks it does.  What makes a person think that way? His therapist claims that he knows right from wrong, because he knows that we will search him and he puts things in places where he knows we won’t search.

Mr Gadget strikes again

Well, David has struck again.  the gadget hoarder.  A couple of weeks ago he stole a cell phone from his aunt.  We took it away.  he stole it again.  We took it away. We hid it in a room behind a locked door.  and he got it again. (went into the room when said occupant was sleeping..  Today I caught him right under my nose using his brother’s tablet computer.  No idea how he took it away from the place in my desk where it was stored without me knowing about it, but he did. Oh, and he took my stash of gum.  ate all of it in one 4 hour period.  I am not blind, so how did I now notice this?   Tweet #fighting4answrs

Choking is not a game….

Our son has been a handful lately.  I confronted him about it yesterday. I have had very little sleep for the last 2 days.  He hasn’t either.  His body seems to thrive on 4 hours of sleep. Turns out that when I give him his medicine, he has been spitting them out. So we started massaging his chin and throat.  Well, that makes sure he swallows them, but then he goes into the bathroom and makes himself throw up the pills.   He is 10.  My heart  breaks to think that he is starting this.  He says that he wants some free time to himself. So the next business day, I am going to be in touch with his doctor.  I am afraid for his life. Now, I know that at least the superintendent of our school district is reading this.  I don’t much care.  This blog isn’t about you.  This
