Today we rearranged some furniture and put up our tree. A rather small tree. But a tree. So our house is starting to feel rather festive.
It seems different this year.
Is it because two kids are in college?
Is it because David is so far away?
I don’t know.
Maybe it is a combination of each of these things.
Rather than focusing on the gifts this year, I think that we should all focus our energies on becoming better people.
After all, Walmart hasn’t been around for 2014 years has it?
We are having the same issue at our house this year. My youngest has chosen for the first time in 18 years to spend Christmas with her father, my oldest is in Florida and since she is getting married two weeks after Christmas it didn’t make sense to drive down for Christmas then turn around and go back….so it will be just my husband and I this year. I just put the decorations up yesterday and boy was that hard…an overflow of memories and emotions! I love your blog by the way!

The girls will both be home for part of the holidays. But as the develop their own lives and eventually families, that will change.
It is a blessing to share the Joy of the Season with them.
Thank you for reading.
