There is so much bad news in the world. I have said this before. So let’s celebrate something good. Laughter. Smiles. Tears of joy Life. I live each day with a chronic illness. Even the bad days are pretty darn good. Embrace the life you have. It is the only one that you will get. David has exceeded my expectations. I don’t expect perfection, in reality none of us is perfect. I look to the Bible for what it says about perfection. Ecclesiastes 7:20. For there is not a iust man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. I am not a biblical scholar. Can’t claim to be. So many friends wished me a happy birthday. Thank you all. If you can read this, then know that I count you as a friend. A couple of weeks ago a good friend passed away. Oren Miller was his name. He said that you can find Heaven where you look. Where you are. Google his name to see what I am talking about, I promise you will be enriched. So I challenge each of you. Look at the world around you. Hug your kids if you have any. If you don’t have any, hug your partner/spouse, visit a friend. Above all, show kindness to others. It will be returned to you a hundredfold. I love random acts of kindness. purchasing a coffee for the person behind me in line, a meal when I can afford one for someone else. All of these things can brighten the day of a stranger.
Today, as my friend Oren Miller is laid to rest, I can think of no better tribute than to spend time with my kids. So I had lunch with my college age daughter. Spent the afternoon with her and David. Then supper with most of the family. People have commented… “Who was Oren?” Oren was a humble man. Who loved being a father. www.baltimoresun.com/health/bs-ae-oren-miller-20141028-story.html#page=1 Here is a collection of Billy Joel that a few dads put together when Oren and Beth couldn’t make a long planned concert event because of Oren’s cancer treatment. Oren brought a bunch of fathers together in the dad blogger group. Through his example, we learned that it is possible to find Heaven on Earth. Thank you Oren. For being you. Tweet #fighting4answrs
