A message of giving thanks.

I shared this on my facebook wall.  It struck me as something that my many readers may want benefit from reading. ======================================== If you are reading this, then you are in some way important to me. It is my hope that on this American holiday, Thanksgiving, that each of you have a blessed day with friends and/or family. If you are lucky like me, they are one and the same. Be thankful for what you have. While our world has its faults, it is the only one that we have. We need to do a better job of stewarding it and its resources for future generations. We also need to be kinder to our fellow man. If you peel the skin off of one person from every race and/or ethnic group you wouldn’t be able to tell them apart. I am not advocating peeling the skin off of anyone, rather

‘Tis the season

Coming up we have Thanksgiving, and then Christmas. With David being so far away from home, and my health rather precarious, I don’t think that we will make it out there for more a weekend pass.  I have one scheduled for the first weekend in December.  It isn’t much, but it is better than nothing. See, the thing with kids like David is, they don’t form attachments like other people do.  This is a facet of both Autism and Reactive Attachment Disorder.  Nothing can be done to change that fact. So, when I go out, he and I will celebrate a small Christmas, just the two of us. It breaks my heart that it can’t be more.  I have to keep telling myself that he is in a good, safe place. There was a brief moment where he was sneaking around, but I think that was a test of his boundaries.  All in all it was a good weekend. On a side note, my health has been kind of strange.  I lost my appetite last Wednesday and it just never really recovered.  It has been
