a note to my daughter, as she graduates…

As you graduate from high school, and transition to college, I just wanted to say a few things. 1)  Treasure the memories that you have made.  Discard the ones that you don’t like, but never forget the lessons they have taught you. 2)  Friends will be with you.  Along the way, you will make new ones, like some that you have now, there will be those who will be with you forever. 3)  Look within for the strength that is there.  We believe in you. 4)  One foot in front of the other. 5)  As you move toward college, and the future, know that we are very proud of the woman you have become. 6)  Don’t forget to check the oil in the car, the tire pressure, and that you have enough gas before heading out on the next adventure. Parent teacher conference for David

Positive comments regarding David at the conferences tonight. He still doesn’t like mathematics. Does well in reading, writing and art. Does well in PE.  And then the primary teacher said “we have told David that if he doesn’t behave, they are going to call an IEP meeting with his home school in Garrison.” Not sure we agree with that considering all of the problems we had there. And I am sure the local school doesn’t want David any where near their building. Tweet #fighting4answrs

Here is one of the photos I took today. It was an enjoyable visit in that I spent time with my eldest daughter.  On the other hand, being a veteran, it was sad to ponder the fate of all participants in the battle.  Both Native American and US Troops.  I can’t imagine the horror that must have gone through the minds of some of the men as they realized that there was no hope of
