Well, here we are at the end of day 5, a Saturday. I have been ill all day, yech!
Our youngest has been just bouncing off the walls for most of the day, even though he has a hacking cough. I wish that I could do the same. Over all, It has been a good day. But, I spent most of the day sleeping so can’t say much for the rest of the family’s thoughts about the day.
Should I feel bad about that? Well, in a way I do, but I also have two auto-immune disorders that need to be cared for. Cared for in that when I get sick, I need to rest immediately to prevent a hospital stay. The nice thing is that my family understands this.
We only had two issues with our youngest today, but they are both so minor that they don’t bear discussion. 🙂 Which is a very positive thing. I am going to have to research the Reactive Attachment Disorder angle. When the whole family is home, he is a different child than when he is home with just me. At the same time, when we have company the behaviour escalates. It is almost as though you can look in his eyes and see the wheels turning where he is trying to figure out just how much he can get away with. On the other hand, the wheels could be turning for him to figure out the best way for him to get the attention that he craves.
Recommendations on reading material regarding Reactive Attachment Disorder? I had a friend recommend books by Dan Hughes.
