Hello. It’s been more than two years since I wrote here. Here I have a birthday wish for our son and a plea for him to turn himself in.
Wow. Time flies.
I did get David’s permission to write here again since he is 20 now.
So much has happened, I can only write about it from a parent’s perspective. Perhaps, someday, David will write the other half.
Two years ago, he attacked me for the last time. In that time, he was in juvenile detention, a residential facility, a halfway house, homeless, in jail, a carnival worker, in jail so many times, homeless and then he had an apartment for a while.
I don’t really know my purpose for writing. We keep fighting for him but prefer he not be in our home.
After his last conviction, he moved 200 miles for a fresh start in a different city. Within 6 weeks, he found trouble, or rather trouble found him.
He has three felony warrants for his arrest, as of this writing he is still on the run.
Yesterday was his 20th birthday. 20 years we have loved him, 2 years before he became our son.
Yesterday, July 15, 2021, I posted this birthday wish and a plea to him via Facebook. He stopped responding to my texts two days ago.
We know he is okay, but not where he is. Our whole family prays for his safety. As a young African-American male, he is at risk for that reason alone. Couple race with a developmental disability, and mental health issues, we have a recipe for disaster.
Feel free to share this where you can. The video itself is 3 minutes long..
